PETA – Farmed animals have virtually no legal protection and suffer horrific abuse that would be illegal if inflicted on dogs or cats. They are neglected, drugged, mutilated, injected with hormones, transported through all weather extremes, and violently slaughtered. Factory farmers strive to produce the most meat, milk, and eggs as quickly and cheaply as possible. To maximize space and profits, cows, calves, pigs, chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, and other animals are crammed into small cages or stalls.
